At the next@acer global press conference, Acer has announced its latest Swift 5 laptop which is equipped with the latest Intel processors and come with upto 16GB of DDR4 RAM. It features an 87.6 percent screen-to-body ratio and thin bezels that measure only 5.87mm. The Swift 5 comes with a 15-inch Full HD IPS panel and features Acer Color Intelligence technology, which the company says can dynamically adjust the gamma and saturation of the display in real-time, optimising screen colour, and brightness. Additionally, the Acer BluelightShield technology allows adjusting of the screen's blue-light emission over extended periods of use. There is no information on the exact specifications, prices, and availability of the Acer Swift 5 in India as of now.

The Acer Swift 5 comes with up to 1TB of SSD storage and up to 16GB of DDR4 memory. IN terms of connectivity, it features one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 port, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports where one comes with power-off charging functionality, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader. There is also support for Windows Hello via a fingerprint reader and the device features Intel Wireless-AC 9560 that offers 2x2 802.11ac wireless Gigabit performance.

“There’s been great feedback on Acer’s amazingly light 14-inch Swift 5, and we are now pushing the limits with the 15.6-inch model,” said Jerry Hou, General Manager, Consumer Notebooks, IT Products Business, Acer Inc. “We’ve kept the weight under the 1 kg mark by using ultra-narrow bezels and a marginally larger chassis.”

The Swift 5’s top and bottom cover is said to be constructed using magnesium-lithium alloys  and its palm rest area is made from magnesium-aluminum alloys. The “advanced materials” used on the laptop are said to make it sturdier and also lighter as it weighs around 1Kg. The laptop also comes equipped with an LED backlit keyboard.
