The hype for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI or GTA 6) has been at a boiling point. Fans have been eagerly waiting for any sort of news about the much-awaited new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, however, there has been almost nothing out of Rockstar Games. A new report has revealed that GTA VI will likely be unplayable for millions when it launches.

According to a report by GAMINGbible, many gamers won't be able to play GTA VI at launch as the game is expected to skip last-generation consoles and go right to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

In February last year, Rockstar Games had announced that GTA VI was in active development. “Many of you have been asking about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series,” the company posted, “With every new project, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we've previously delivered. We're pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the series is underway.”

Earlier, it was rumoured that GTA VI's map will be bigger, and might also change and evolve over time, like in Fortnite. Famous Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson had also predicted the 2024, or 2025 release for GTA VI in a YouTube video, which was later backed by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier. Moreover, Rockstar reportedly paused development on Red Dead Redemption and the GTA 4 remasters to dedicate more manpower to GTA 6.

The last GTA 5 game was released back in 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It made its way to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S early in March last year.
