If you are a Google Meet Enterprise, Workplace, or broadly a premium user, then you will now be able to live stream the meeting to YouTube. It is not available to regular users with the basic tier. But, even with the paid plan, there are some hoops you have to go through to access the feature.
Let's see what that is and how to do the whole stream setup.
First of all, you need to have any of the following Google Meet plans:
Next up, the administrator of the account will have to submit a request, and Google will take about 24 hours to assess your request and approve if it finds you are good to go.
Once your request to live stream is approved, there are two ways to go about it:
Within the Google Meet Privacy settings, you can choose the duration of the live streams and other options.
Google says this "is useful in situations where users want to present information to large audiences outside of their organization, allowing them to pause and replay as needed, or view the presentation at a later time".
Starting July 21, Google has rolled out the feature in what it calls a "rapid release". This may take 3 days to reflect on the user’s end.
Then there is the “scheduled release” which begins on July 25 and it may take up to 15 days to go live for the user.
