Best Ink Tank Printers in India (September 2023)

Ink Tank printers or Super Tank printers as they’re commonly known in some markets are basically inkjet printers that come with a massive ink reservoir built into the printer chassis. These printers are usually meant for high-volume printing since the hassle of switching out cartridges every 100-200 pages is eliminated by incorporating an ink tank. Ink tank printers are priced a little higher than cartridge based inkjet printers but that easily pays off considering how the cost of printing per page goes down significantly. Most of the ink tank printers meant for home use or even office use only cost about 10 paise per page when printing in black and white or about 20 paise when printing in colour. So they’re very economical in that sense as long as you use them regularly and don’t let the ink dry out. In this list, we’ve tried to include ink tank printers with wifi, without wifi and even those that come with ethernet. The best ink tank printers come with all of the above connectivity features but they also cost upwards of INR 20K. Around INR 16-14K, you will get the more affordable wireless ink tank printers and beyond that, you will barely get any connectivity options other than USB.

When you’re exploring the top of the line Ink Tank printers, then the Brother MFC-T920DW comes out at the top of the list. It’s an all-in-one printer with print, scan and copy functionality and pretty decent capacity. The input tray can hold 150 sheets whereas the output tray can hold 50 sheets. And if you are using the built-in ADF functionality then the tray capacity for that is 20 pages. The Brother MFC-T920DW comes with 100 Mbit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) connectivity and is ideal for places that have heavy print volume requirements.

Canon PIXMA G7070 (Price - 35245)

Another printer rated for high-volume of printing is the Canon PIXMA G7070 which is rated for up to 1500 pages per month. The print head has 1792 nozzles and it uses the standard Canon GI-70 refills. Each refill should be enough for 6000 monochrome or 7700 colour prints. The G7070 also supports 2-sided printing which is a huge boon since you don’t have to manually refeed the pages and saves a lot of time. As for network connectivity, the PIXMA G7070 offers a 100 Mbit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) connectivity.

HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 (Price - 14809)

The HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 is one of the top ink tank printers that HP has to offer in India. It’s recommended for a monthly print volume between 400 to 800 sheets and is an all-in-one ink tank printer. Also, the HP 419 offers Wi-Fi direct and can also be connected to your wireless network to make it accessible to everyone on the network. The HP 419 does not come with an ADF so if that feature is important for you, then you might want to consider the PIXMA G7070 or the Brother MFC-T920DW. What you do get is support for duplex printing via the driver for which you will have to manually feed the paper. As for refills, the HP 419 uses the GT52, GT51 and GT51XL ink bottles.

Epson EcoTank L3211 (Price - 12999)

The Epson EcoTank L3211 is an all-in-one ink Tank printer that is rated for high-volume printing. The print heats feature 180 black ink and 59 colour ink nozzles and can output 10 pages per minute when printing in monochrome or 5 pages per minute when printing in colour. The L3211 does not have any wireless connectivity features which is quite odd for a printer in this price range. As for the tray capacity, the input tray can hold 100 sheets whereas the output tray can hold 30 sheets of paper. Lastly, the scanner bed has a max resolution of 600 DPI x 1200 DPI.

HP Ink Tank 316 (Price - 10920)

A more affordable ink tank printer from HP’s stables is the HP Ink Tank 316. Compared to the HP 419, you get the same print speeds for monochrome and colour prints, and it is even rated for the same print volumes. The difference here is that the HP Ink Tank 316 does not come with any wireless connectivity. Other than that, it’s pretty much the same Ink Tank printer as the 419. HP recommends using the GT52 and GT53XL ink bottles with the HP 316. Unlike the HP 419, you do not get any driver support for duplex printing with the HP 316 so you will have to figure that out manually.

HP 410 Ink Tank Printer

The HP 410 is an all-in-one printer that includes print, scan, copy and scanner. It also has the essential connectivity options including WiFi, USB and HP Smart companion app. It delivers a print speed of 7.5 pages per minute for black and white, 4.5 ppm for colour copies. The printing cost is 10 paise for black and white and 18 paise for colour print. With this offering, it is ideal for home and small offices that need more than 300 pages per month. It supports A6, B5, DL and envelope size papers and delivers a print resolution of up to 4800x1200 optimized dpi (colour) and up to 1200x1200 rendered dpi (black). In a single cartridge, it produces a page yield of 4000 pages (black & white), 8000 pages (colour). The company recommends printing 1000 pages per month.

Apart from its all-round feature set, it also boasts of multiple connectivity options like WiFi, USB, Apple AirPrint, Mopria, Google Cloud Print, and Canon SELPHY apps. It offers a print speed of 8.8ppm for black and 5ppm for colour copies. It gives 9 paise cost per print for black, 32 paise for colour print. It comes with support for page size 4.0"x6.0" till A4 / Letter / Legal / A5 / B5. The highlight is its WiFi Direct support that allows you to connect multiple devices to the printer.

HP DeskJet 5085 Ink Tank Printer

Similar to the previous two printers in the list, this one from HP also comes with all-in-one functionality that brings print, scan, copy with duplex printing. It also supports voice-activated printing which uses Alexa and Google Assistant. It comes with connectivity options like WiFi Direct, USB, HP Smart app. It offers a printing speed of 10 pages per minute for black and white, and 7 pages for colour prints. Printing cost comes down to Rs 1.4 for black and white and Rs 4.5 for colour prints. It suits small office and home needs best. The print sizes supported are A4, A5, B5, DL, C6, A6. It is said to bring print resolution of up to 4800x1200 optimized DPI (Colour), and up to 1200x1200 rendered DPI (Black & White).

Epson EcoTank L3152 Ink Tank Printer

Ink Tank printers are way more economical given that they can outlast most of the competition. The Epson L3152 all-in-one Ink Tank printer rides high on the list of best printers for this very reason. It's part of the Epson EcoTank printer lineup which is all about print economy. It has print, scan and copy functionalities sans the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for the scanner. The L3152 uses the T003 Ink Bottles for Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow colours. And the maximum print resolution of the L3152 is 5760x1440.

Epson EcoTank L3110 Ink Tank Printer

If the EcoTank L3152 was a little expensive for your usage then there's the Epson EcoTank L3110 for consideration as well. It's basically a scaled down version of the L3152 and it even has the print, scan and copy functionalities of the L3152. The difference between the two printers comes down to slightly lower optical scan resolution of 600x1200 for the L3110 and the fact that it does not have Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity. For nearly half the price, that's not a lot that you're missing out on. The L3110 uses the T003 Ink Bottles for Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow colours. And the maximum print resolution of the L3110 is 5760x1440.
