Just as we thought the era of tablets was waning, Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S3 tablet, and two new tablets under its newly announced Galaxy Book range. While the Tab S3 is an Android-based tablet, the Book series is aimed at Windows consumers and are powered by Intel processors. Let’s take a look at what is new here.

Let’s start with the Galaxy Tab S3, which replaces the premium Tab S2 launched in September 2015 at Rs. 39,400. While it has the same form factor as its predecessor, there is new hardware on offer.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 offers an AMOLED display, with support for HDR and 4K video playback. The device also supports S-pen to increase productivity.

The build of the phone is mostly glass and metal, and even the back is covered in glass. It also gets a 13MP rear camera, in case you need one.

The tablet also has a quad-speaker setup tuned by AKG, claiming premium listening experience. Samsung is also pairing a keyboard cover for the tablet, which connects via pogo pins at the bottom.

Samsung has also announced a new Windows-powered tablet lineup, called the Galaxy Book. The company announced two tablets under this Book range, one a 10.6-inch version and the other a 12-inch variant. 

Both have metal builds, and look quite premium.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6 is the smaller of the two Book tablets. It is powered by a fanless 7th gen Intel Core processor, and will be available with a detachable keyboard cover. It has the following specifications:

RAM: 4GB
Storage: 64GB/128GB, MicroSD card support
Camera: 5MP front
OS: Windows 10

The bigger Windows-powered tablet is the Galaxy Book 12, which as the name suggests has a 12-inch display. It is powered by 7th gen Intel core processors, and supports HDR video playback.
