While we all wait for the official release of Samsung’s latest flagship foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, a slew of leaks about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has come our way.

A bunch of leaked renders reveals the design similarities it shares with its predecessor, the Fold 4. This includes the USB Type-C port, speaker grills, and microphone locations.

However, Samsung has made notable enhancements, with a considerably thinner bezel that promises to elevate the user's visual experience by significantly increasing the screen-to-body ratio.

Although the color selection for the new device is yet to be confirmed, a Blue variant is very much expected. Another sought-after feature of it would be the S Pen, which is likely to be sold separately, continuing the trend established with the previous model.

The back of the device could feature a triple camera setup, reminiscent of the Fold 4. However, a slight relocation of the LED near the rear cameras is possible. Samsung designers are likely to have refined the hinge and other aspects of the design.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is said to house Samsung's custom-designed Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a detail previously disclosed in other leaks. This powerful chipset is currently deployed in Samsung's flagship Galaxy S23 series, suggesting that the Fold 5 will pack a similar performance punch.

With its refined hinge design and likely S Pen support, the Fold 5 is poised to carry forward Samsung's legacy in the realm of foldable smartphones. However, it remains to be seen whether these upgrades, including the potential enhancements in the camera department, will enable Samsung to maintain its competitive edge in the face of emerging rivals like the Google Pixel Fold and rumoured foldable from OnePlus.

As anticipation continues to build, all eyes are now on Samsung's Unpacked event next month, where the tech giant is expected to officially lift the veil on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.
