Samsung ViewFinity S9 5K Monitor announced ahead of CES 2023: What we know so far

Samsung has just announced its latest offering, the ViewFinity S9 monitor ahead of CES 2023. This is a 27-inch 5K display that the brand claims has been optimised for creative professionals such as video editors, graphic designers, photographers and content creators. This product may just be a viable alternative to the Apple Studio Display thanks to its features and capabilities.

What is the Samsung ViewFinity S9?

The Samsung ViewFinity S9 is the direct successor to the Samsung ViewFinity S8. This was announced by Samsung in June of 2022. The preceding monitor was also designed for creatives and promised users that it will offer 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It also promised a matte display, along with an “ergonomic design,”. However, the monitor only offered a 4K resolution.

Samsung ViewFinity S9 specifications (expected)

The Samsung ViewFinity S9 tacks on new offerings to the Samsung ViewFinity S8. It is the brand’s first-ever creator-focussed display, which offers 5K resolution (5120x2880 pixel resolution). This is claimed to improve colour accuracy. It also promises 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut along with an average Delta E of less than 2. Samsung claims that these new features have resulted in a display that offers true-to-form, crisp details even in complicated or nuanced visual environments.”
