In order to ensure that things remain cool, even in the heat of battle, laptop comes with Lenovo’s Coldfront cooling system that uses a dual-channel thermal system with four vents and dedicated heat sinks. Each channel features 70 fan blades, which is said to reduce system noise.

The Legion Y540 features most of its ports at the back. This includes a USB-C port, mini display port, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, an HDMI port, the ethernet port and a Kensington lock slot. The AC adapter port is also located at the back. A USB 3.1 Gen 1 port is located on both sides of the laptop as well.
